They provide extension services to farmers, promoting sustainable agricultural practices and increasing productivity. Developing irrigation systems ensures efficient water management for agriculture. Supporting livestock farmers and promoting animal health are critical aspects. They also manage fisheries, ensuring sustainable fishing practices and the preservation of aquatic resources.

Mr. Patrick Osoro is a seasoned professional in agricultural and livestock extension, technologies, and innovations. His extensive experience has equipped him with a deep understanding of the agricultural sector and its associated challenges and opportunities.

County Chief Officer – Livestock, Fisheries & Cooperative Development

Professional Background: Dr. Emmanuel Wanjala Simiyu has extensive experience in both managerial and specialist roles within the health and sanitation sectors. He has served in various capacities, bringing a wealth of knowledge and expertise to his current position.
Skills and Expertise: Dr. Simiyu has a strong background in senior management and medical practice. His comprehensive understanding of health systems and his leadership skills have been instrumental in his contributions to the department and the community at large.
As the Chief Officer for the Department of Livestock, Fisheries, and Cooperative Development, Dr. Simiyu is committed to enhancing the sector’s productivity and sustainability, ensuring that the county’s agricultural and cooperative initiatives thrive.
