This department prioritizes the health and well-being of the community. They operate hospitals, clinics, and healthcare facilities, providing preventive and curative services. Promoting public health through immunization campaigns and initiatives focusing on maternal and child health are crucial aspects. Ensuring proper sanitation systems through waste management and hygiene promotion safeguards public health and environmental sustainability.

Responsibilities:

Dr. Simiyu Judith Ph.D, MKIM
County Chief Officer – Health Services & Sanitation

Dr. Simiyu Judith Ph.D, MKIM is the County Chief Officer for Health Services & Sanitation in Trans-Nzoia County. She currently holds the designation of Chief Assistant Vocational and Technical Trainer and serves as the Registrar Administration. Dr. Simiyu is a strategic manager with extensive experience in human resource management, performance contracting, and quality auditing (ISO:9001:2015).

Educational Background:

  • Ph.D. in Business Administration (Strategic Management) from Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology
  • MBA in Business Administration (Strategic Management) from Mt. Kenya University
  • BEd Arts from Kenyatta University

She has received commendations for outstanding performance in performance contracting, research, innovation, and adherence to ISO standards. Her achievements include developing strategic plans, policies, and competency-based courses, and integrating ICT in training and development. She has also presented research papers internationally and is currently writing a book on TVET institutions in Africa.

Dr. Simiyu’s leadership and commitment to excellence have significantly impacted the departments and institutions she has been involved with, contributing to improved service delivery and educational outcomes.
