Bungoma Advisory Council Benchmarks Service Delivery in Trans-Nzoia

The Bungoma Advisory Council visited Trans-Nzoia County for a benchmarking mission, gaining insights into service delivery strategies and advisory council frameworks.

Members of the Bungoma Advisory Council recently visited Trans-Nzoia County on a benchmarking mission to explore strategies for improving service delivery. The delegation, led by Peter Mudogo, Advisor on Lands and Emerging Issues, was warmly received by the Trans-Nzoia advisory team.

Insights from the Governor’s Delivery Unit
Samuel Ereng, Director of the Governor’s Delivery Unit (GDU) in Trans-Nzoia, provided a detailed presentation on the unit’s pivotal role in translating the Governor’s vision into action. He described the GDU as a bridge between leadership and residents, tackling challenges and delivering solutions. Ereng highlighted key achievements, including enhanced service efficiency, effective crisis management, and improved collaboration between advisors and delivery teams.

Legal Frameworks and Advisory Roles
Discussions during the visit delved into the legal framework governing advisory councils, their establishment, powers, and administrative roles. These insights were pivotal in equipping the Bungoma delegation with knowledge on driving county-level transformations.

Peter Mudogo commended the session, stating, “Advisory councils play a critical role in providing strategic guidance to county governments. This session has been insightful and will greatly influence our approach in Bungoma.”

Cross-County Collaboration in Action
The Bungoma team, which included Public Relations Advisor Jemimah Pkomu Temko and Media Liaison Advisor Cheptai Namisi, toured several projects initiated by Trans-Nzoia’s advisory council. These visits showcased how integrating advisors into delivery frameworks has transformed service delivery.

“The visit was an eye-opener,” noted Temko. “We’ve seen how Trans-Nzoia has successfully implemented strategies that have improved service delivery. We aim to replicate some of these strategies back home.”

Commitment to Inter-County Learning
Trans-Nzoia officials, led by Chief of Staff Dickson Wamocho, emphasized the importance of inter-county collaboration. “This exchange underscores the value of shared experiences in advancing devolution,” Wamocho remarked.

The visit concluded with both counties expressing their commitment to continued knowledge sharing and partnerships to enhance governance and service delivery for their residents.
