The Department of Gender, Youth, Sports & Culture is created under the County Government Act of 2012 (Sec 46) and assigned functional responsibility by H.E the Governor. This department promotes inclusivity and social well-being. They advocate for and implement policies that promote gender equality, ensuring equal opportunities for all. Empowering youth through skill development and leadership programs equips them for a brighter future. Supporting and promoting sports activities for all fosters physical and mental well-being, while preserving and promoting cultural heritage strengthens community identity and pride.

Captain Stanley Kirui

Captain Stanley Kirui has held several significant roles within Trans Nzoia County, including:

  • County Executive Committee Member (CECM) for Gender, Youth, Sports, Culture, and Tourism
  • CECM for Education and Technical Training
  • CECM for Trade, Commerce, and Industrialization

In addition to his extensive experience in county governance, Captain Kirui is an accomplished aviation mogul and pilot.

Skills and Expertise: Mrs. Wachwenge possesses strong skills in mentorship and counseling. Her ability to guide and support individuals, especially the youth, has made a significant impact on their personal and professional growth.

Honors and Awards: Mrs. Wachwenge was honored with the Miss Independent Kenya Women Award in 2024, recognizing her exceptional contributions to society and her role as an inspiring leader.

As the Chief Officer for the Department of Gender, Youth, Sports, Culture, and Tourism, Mrs. Wachwenge is dedicated to promoting gender equality, empowering the youth, and enhancing the cultural and sports landscape of Trans Nzoia County.
