The Senate Committee on ICT today visited Trans Nzoia County to evaluate the integration of digital systems in governance and revenue collection.
Recognition of Digital Advancements
Led by Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei, the delegation included Senators Allan Chesang (Trans Nzoia), William Kipkemoi (Elgeyo Marakwet), and Beatrice Akinyi (Homa Bay County). They praised the county’s adoption of a digital revenue collection system, noting its potential to enhance efficiency, transparency, and accountability in public resource management.
Call for Full Integration
While commending Governor George Natembeya and his administration for these advancements, the committee emphasized the need for complete automation of all revenue streams. “Full integration is essential to maximize the benefits of digitization,” Senator Cherargei remarked, urging the county to ensure no revenue sources remain manual.
