Governor George Natembeya has urged residents of Kinyoro Ward, Saboti Sub-County, to capitalize on the Nawiri Fund to improve their economic status by launching sustainable livelihood projects. Addressing locals on Thursday, Natembeya emphasized his administration’s commitment to providing loans and awarding tenders to empower beneficiary groups financially.
“We are ready to support Nawiri groups with Kes 250,000 and more,” Natembeya announced, encouraging community members to use the fund to fuel economic growth through small business initiatives.
In the previous financial year, nine groups from Kinyoro Ward benefited significantly from the Nawiri Fund and county government tenders, helping micro and small enterprises thrive under the governor’s economic empowerment initiatives.
Natembeya was accompanied by Trade and Industry CEC Patrick Gacheru, Director of Communications Dr. Felix Sialo, and members of the Nawiri Fund Board, including Ken Waliula and Catherine Kerubo. They led a vetting exercise and sensitization forum for Nawiri applicants at Kinyoro Catholic Church, aiming to increase awareness of the fund’s benefits and application process.
