The County Government of Trans Nzoia is set to enter into a partnership with West Kenya Sugar Company to foster development initiatives within the region. The discussions, spearheaded by Roads CECM Jackson Amboka and Governance Chief Officer Sammy Sichangi on behalf of the county, and General Manager Sangaiah Ramar representing the sugar company, centered on collaboration for county development.
The meeting, which also included Waitaluk MCA Furaha Lusweti representing the County Assembly, explored avenues for the company to begin remitting road maintenance funds and engage in corporate social responsibility activities to benefit the local community.
According to CECM Amboka, both parties agreed to establish a technical committee to facilitate the drafting of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This partnership is expected to formalize the company’s contribution towards the upkeep of county roads, which have suffered damage due to heavy lorries and tractors transporting cane for the sugar company.

The meeting was co-chaired by CECM Jackson Amboka and MCA Furaha Lusweti, underscoring the county’s commitment to ensuring that development initiatives are sustainable and beneficial to the residents of Trans Nzoia.
