The County Government of Trans Nzoia held an important meeting with representatives from the Office of the Deputy President’s Devolution Department on Monday. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss ways to strengthen collaboration and improve the effectiveness of devolution within the county, ensuring better service delivery to the residents.
The session, which was chaired by Deputy County Secretary George Kisaka, focused on the need for enhanced cooperation, particularly in areas that have been underperforming. The goal is to ensure that devolution achieves its full potential across all sectors, benefiting the entire community.
The county government delegation included senior officials such as PSM CECM Julia Ruto, Health CECM Sam Ojwang, Chief Officers Philip Kapten (PSM), Patrick Osoro (Agriculture), Gideon Sawe (Senior Official), and directors Imeldah Agoi (Human Resource Management), Lucy Nyambura (Special Programs), Fred Ndumbi (Special Programs), Samuel Ereng, Edward Khaoya (Governor’s Delivery Unit), and Jenniffer Kirari (Assistant Director of Communications), along with other directors from the county.
The delegation from the Office of the Deputy President was represented by Everlyne Muthoni and Sheila Moraa, who brought in their expertise to help drive the agenda for improving devolution services in the region.
Both teams discussed the challenges faced by the county and outlined strategies for better alignment between the county’s initiatives and the broader devolution objectives, aiming for a more integrated approach to local governance.
