A team from the national Frontline Locally-Led Climate Action (FLLoCA) Project Implementation Unit (PIU) engaged with Trans Nzoia County’s coordination team on Friday to provide technical guidance ahead of the implementation of community-proposed projects. The expert group, led by Ms. Mary, provided crucial input on how to refine concept notes for the proposed projects to meet the program’s standards.
The Water, Environment, Natural Resources, and Climate Change (WENRCC) County Executive, Pepela Wanjala, and Chief Officer Dorothy Nyukuri, along with the Climate Change Unit (CCU), were actively involved in fine-tuning the required documentation.
Communities across the 25 wards in Trans Nzoia have proposed over 50 projects focused on agriculture, water, and environmental sectors. These projects are set to receive funding from a Kes 305 million grant, made possible by the World Bank, development partners, the national government, and contributions from Trans Nzoia County itself.
This collaborative effort between the national and county teams ensures that the community-driven initiatives meet the necessary criteria, paving the way for successful implementation.
