In a determined effort to improve revenue collection and service delivery in Trans Nzoia County, Governor George Natembeya today held a strategic meeting with the county finance committee and revenue officers. The meeting, held at Wamalwa Kijana Teaching and Referral Hospital, focused on boosting the county’s revenue streams and addressing the challenges of corruption.
Governor Natembeya emphasized the untapped potential for revenue growth, noting that Trans Nzoia could collect over Ksh 1 billion annually if all revenue sources are fully activated. He stressed the importance of efficient management and integrity in the collection process, highlighting that his administration will not tolerate corruption.
“Trans Nzoia has the potential to collect more than 1 billion shillings annually,” Governor Natembeya said. “However, all revenue streams need to be activated to achieve this goal.”

The governor also emphasized that every shilling collected must be used to improve the lives of the county’s residents. He pointed out that high levels of integrity are crucial for the success of the county’s revenue initiatives and warned against dishonest practices among revenue officers.
To further reinforce this message, revenue officers present at the event took an oath to uphold integrity in their daily duties. This move marks a critical step in Natembeya’s broader efforts to combat corruption and enhance transparency within the county’s administration.
As Trans Nzoia continues its push to strengthen financial management, the governor’s administration is set on creating a transparent and efficient system that will ensure maximum benefits for the county’s residents.
