Governor George Natembeya has called on Saboti residents to actively participate in government programs to foster local economic growth. Speaking in Machewa, Natembeya highlighted the need for community engagement in government opportunities to promote financial circulation at the grassroots level.
“When money circulates effectively, businesses grow, and residents can seize opportunities independently,” Natembeya remarked. He emphasized the importance of the Kes 100 million Nawiri Fund, allocated this financial year to support local entrepreneurs, particularly those looking to expand their businesses.
The governor advised suppliers to submit fair and accurate quotations during the tendering process, ensuring both profitability and ethical business practices. “We want suppliers to thrive while observing integrity—greed only disrupts our collective progress,” he cautioned.
In support of agricultural initiatives, Governor Natembeya announced plans to open a chicken slaughterhouse in the county, encouraging residents to invest in poultry farming. The facility is expected to provide a reliable market, aiding efforts to develop sustainable local agriculture.
Key officials at the event included area MCA Kisiang’ani Wambwa, Saboti MCA Boniface Cheloti, Trade CEC Patrick Gacheru, Nawiri Fund Chair Martin Waliaula, and Directors Dr. Felix Sialo (Communications) and Dr. Scholasticah Nalobile (Trade). These leaders reaffirmed their commitment to supporting residents in accessing resources and boosting Saboti’s economy.
