Roads and Public Works CEC Amboka Urges Staff to Embrace Change

The Trans Nzoia Department of Roads and Public Works has urged its employees to continue working diligently following a successful financial year. Executive Committee Member Jackson Amboka stated that performance indicators showed the department achieved a 70 percent success rate.
In a meeting with the departmental staff, Amboka updated the workers on their placements after the department was split and assigned two chief officers: Joseph Wasike for Roads and Infrastructure and George Mwangi for Public Works and Energy.
He also informed the workers of several new changes within the department. Stephene Mukubui, previously from the Education department, will now serve as the administrative director for the entire department. Clerk of Works Chrispinus Wakoli, Edward Kiplagat, and Matifari have been reassigned to Public Works and Energy, while Joseph Makokha moves to Roads and Infrastructure. Eng. Rachael Wangoi and Rodgers Simiyu will continue to serve in Roads and Infrastructure.
Amboka stated that most heavy machinery, including lorries, graders, excavators, and backhoes, will be managed by Chief Officer Wasike, while a section of smaller vehicles will be overseen by Mwangi.
The casual workers were informed that the county government is working on a plan to transition them into permanent and pensionable positions. Amboka encouraged all workers to foster cordial relationships with their colleagues and superiors to further the development of the department.
